    PAWA: Piedmont Animal Welfare Alliance New Leash on Life
The Piedmont Animal Welfare Alliance is all-volunteer nonprofit in Forsyth County, NC, that partners with the Forsyth Correctional Center, the Winston-Salem Dog Training Club, as well as local dog rescues. New Leash on Life is a N.C. state prison dog-training program, where both dogs and inmates get a second chance. The dogs live and work with inmate-trainers, learning obedience, house and crate training, and basic agility, to be ready for adoption.
